The Activation Zone in Dholera Smart City (DSIR) is a specially designated 22.5 sq km area within Town Planning Schemes 2A and 4A, planned as the first phase of development to kick-start the city. Often referred to as a “plug-and-play” zone, it is fully equipped with trunk infrastructure such as wide roads, water supply, power, sewage treatment, ICT systems, and flood protection so that industries and residential projects can begin operations immediately.About 47% of the land here is earmarked for industrial use, 28% for residential housing, and the remaining for commercial, recreational, and institutional purposes. Once fully developed, it is expected to accommodate around 80,000 jobs and a population of 120,000. At the heart of this zone is the ABCD Building, which functions as the single-window system for all approvals, making it easier for companies to set up.
